Love, peace and joy to all of you!!! May we be reminded of the greatest gift of all at this time! Hope you enjoy your time with your families…and….. dont eat too much! :-)

Wow…it’s been too long…

It really feels weird logging into my blog.  It feels like forever ago that I posted the last time.  Oh blog…how I’ve missed thee!!!  Well, this season has been VERY abnormal…to say the least. It has been one of my busiest, and most trying season of all.  There were alot of unanswered questions (the most popular one being ‘WHY?’…on my part).  There has been ALOT of good, but also some bad, and some lessons learned.  Anyway, here is a breakdown of the last few months:

-Massive computer crash (yes, lost a ton…even from my back-up disk). Insert ever-most popular question..WHY? and HOW?? I still cannot answer them!!  I cannot thank my clients enough for the amazing attitude they’ve had towards this. The patience and understanding for what I had to go through to pull myself through this has been very gracious.

-Finally recovering from that big mess, and I was hit with a virus that was attached to my website by a 3rd party. Basically, there were ‘malicious codes’ inserted into the index files of my site (anyone speak that language? Not me!)  Figuring this out with my website people and getting it cleaned up was an absolute nightmare.  Needless to say, I was paralyzed from this too…b/c everything associated with my site was down, and clients couldnt place orders, couldnt view their galleries, couldnt get emails! Talk about alot of phone calls to make and frustration to go with that.  But again…my clients really are THE best!!

-One word:  Stalker.  Yes, you heard me. Yes, I WISH i was joking. As if I didnt have enough going on with my home and work life…let’s throw in a complete physco stalker in the mix to make it more exciting. Unfortunately, I wont go into too much detail (although some of you secretly crave juicy details…sorry!!).  Let’s just say it was definitely uncalled for, lasted too long, and absolutely freaked me out. I was honestly scared that Ava and I were in danger as when this person decided to follow me…Ava was always with me.  Well, it has been taken care of (ok…that doesnt sound good, lol. It’s not like that).  And my life goes on. Its nice to know that I can go about my business without always being on the ‘lookout’.  WHO KNEW that it was so draining in every sense of the word??? Unfortunately, I can now say that ‘I know’.

-On a more positive note, I’ve had the opportunity to do a commercial shoot for a new clothing line here in Bham, launching VERY soon. (MORE on that later!!)  It was all so exciting, and I cannot wait to share my end of it all.

-Sickness sickness sickness!! Anyone else battle a ton of sickness in their household??  A friend of mine told me that when Ava is older, both she and I will be some of the healthiest chicks on the block. B/c we have honestly caught EVERYTHING under the sun! I kid you not.

Well…my life in a miniature nutshell there for ya!!  I really am crazy for sitting here at 2am on Christmas eve to type this. Sleep is for the birds!! HA!  At least my chocolate pies are done, my house is clean, presents are wrapped (with the last gift bought today at 10pm), and I will be enjoying time with all my family for the next few days.  I definitely got my second wind, so couldnt possibly put off a blog post.  However, DONT count on me sitting here and catching up on all my sessions…I will start trickling them in little by little.  And to start things off…here is a sweet family I have had to pleasure of photographing for the 3rd year in a row.  Never a dull moment! :-)

Being Thankful

blog1

It has been a rough few weeks around here. I know that I have neglected the blog (shame on me). I will go into all of that later, as well as post the many many sessions that have taken place in the last few weeks (or at least try and get to them). But for right now, I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. It is nice to be away from home, with family, breathe alittle and soak up some fun times….as well as eat alot of turkey!!

This little girl has brought so much joy to my heart and smiles to my face! I could have an awful day, and just looking at her and thanking God for her is enough to lift my spirits. Top that off with a husband that loves me like the day we spoke our vows (or even more….)  and I am one blessed girl. I am thankful for that today.  I am thankful for the blessings that each day brings…even for the blessings in disguise.  I am thankful for the food we have, the roof over our heads, jobs we enjoy, family we’re close to, a church we call home, healthy bodies, and most of all….the grace of Jesus Christ that is renewed each and every day.  The salvation we have through Him is unmeasurable to what the world can offer.  It is only through Him that our lives can be restored and only through Him that we have hope of eternal life with our Creator. Thank you Lord!

ok…so I’m also thankful for little mini-accomplishments. Ava has been mastering her jump…here is one her jumps  as it unfolds. She can now jump with both feet. LOL

Make sure you hug yours extra hard today! :-)

The wonderful age of 5

I need more kids this age please. Will someone please send some my way! I had too much fun with ‘J’.  She had so much personality and spunk.  The thing about a 5 year old is that they do not meet a stranger. They want to tell you about everything, and they want to show you all the cool stuff they can do. They also think you’re hilarious!!! :-)   In my case….all the above worked very well!

Ok…so i have been obsessed with this old, shed-looking thing on the side of the road. There is a new subdivision being built on this particular road, and it used to be a field. When I went there with Ava, it looked like it had been freshly mowed, but I thought…we’re still doing it. I cant pass up my ’shed’ picture.  Ava had no interest in being there. Luckily I had my niece with me to help out. I was doing everything..singing songs, jumping up and down, and pretending I was falling down…rolling around in the dead field grass.  I KNOW people driving by were thinking, that poor girl! HA!  Well, apparently, mr. lawn mower man mowed over some antbeds…probably ant mansions…b/c these ants were MAD. And they took it out on me. Before I knew it, I felt pinches everywhere. My niece was brushing them off my back, and out of my hair, and they were all over my legs. Yes, folks, they got INSIDE my clothes.  I have never been so uncomfortable driving, and I’ve never been so ready to hit a shower. When I walked through my doors, I went straight there, and sure enough…there were many more.  I counted 15 bites…and that is what I could see with my own eyes, lol.  And if you’ve ever had a fire ant bite you, you know how nasty those bites get. My legs, arms, back and stomach looked pretty disgusting, I’m not gonna lie.  It was only when I opened the below and above pictures when i thought….” I would do it all over again!!!”   It really was so worth it!

My serious girl…

LOVE her little pout!
